How to charge psp using usb cable?

before my psp completely ran out of power i already changed the settings to allow battery charging using usb cable, so now i connect my psp to my laptop with a usb cable but the psp won't turn on and doesn't even have the orange light on the lower right corner show up...can anyone help me on this?How to charge psp using usb cable?
The usb will only charge if your system is already on. It will not charge via usb if the unit is off. If the system is completely drained right now, then you need to charge via the power port until you can start the system again.



Also, if you're using CFW and just updated, be sure to check your CFW usb charge settings (the ones you access by holding right bumper and the power switch).
